New Knight thread-bad times? Or not?

    Actual facts. You do the most work for the least amount money.

    In my eight years driving I have learned how to properly and efficiently deliver irregularly routed freight from point a to point b in the most cost effective and legal manner possible. 2009, all but the last two weeks with Knight earned me my lowest W-2 since my second full year driving.

    I was available to work 310 days in 2009.

    Picking up a load with a fresh 10, 345 PAID miles and 36 hours to deliver it does no good for getting ahead.

    The lack of trailers hurts as well.

    Preferential treatment at the shops. Example Olive Branch Ms, a day and a half for a PM because the Cummins dedicated drivers take priority there.

    Like I said before, If you think your going to run around running a bare bones minimum of 2500 miles per week, you are wrong. The odds are stacked against you at Knight. They are now and have been training drivers. New drivers in an industry flooded with good drivers. Why are they training ? No one will answer me. IMO it's because good drivers DO NOT drive 250 miles looking for an empty trailer. Read whipping boys posts. Would you like a link ? Pretty damning evidence right there what Knight thinks of their drivers. GOSH #### these mega junk carriers are something else !

    Just curious why you think I don't drive anymore ? Is that like an underhanded clever way to "stick it" to me ?

    But that's OK, Denver Joe, head of West Coast/Western US safety reads these forums daily and will be looking into the issue of the Portland/Seattle yards running illegal.

    You guys need to get on the same page, if it is as bad as DNA says at Knight. Why would anyone need to run illegal? Gonna get safety on it?:biggrin_255:Now that's funny, And I don't care who you are.

    It's simple logistics people Knight is strong in the west and if you work out of the NW region you will do better because the main hubs are LA and Phoenix. If you are based in LA or Phoenix where their are more drivers you will have shorter runs and more drivers to compete with for loads home and miles.

    I don't have to work at Knight to know that most of what DNA says is carp because I go to the terminal every so often I talk with the drivers who work their and I have seen the trip sheets and the paperwork because it is all kept by the driver . they have to many issues for me to work for them one being that it is OTR work which I won't do again unless I loose my job and there is nothing else. But my friend (not friend of a friend) is not going to work for some out fit who treats her like they treated DNA to starve him out. She gets the miles, she gets the money she is owed and she gets home. If you don't and get starved out then you move on say your peace on the board here. But everybody is not going to get red flagged and starved out like DNA nor feel the need to try and say all are doomed because they got the hook like DNA. Later.
