New owner operator in North New Jersey...

I have been driving for 8 years as a company driver. I'm in the process of transitioning to owner operator out of the Newark general area of New Jersey. I'm looking to do local runs where I can be home daily, or as much as possible, because I will be using a day cab. Are there any o/o drivers working this area that could give me advice on companies to look into working with? Any new o/o advice will help, too.

 

What research have you done before posing this question here? Who have you spoken with doing what you look to do? Like in person at a shipper, truck stop , where ever.....
