I just received my pre hire letter from Roehl and I'm going to get my DOT physical Monday July 1, 2013. I am thinking about starting RDTC in August sometime. If you are a new student or in the program now please sign in. Also, if you went through the program please let us know what you liked the best and what would you do to improve the training if you could change something.

Heres a thread from our RDTC class about 6 months ago now...
http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...201186-rdtc-starting-school-january-28th.html
If you look you will then see our phase three thread...
Advice? Don't go in January/February.... What would I change? Move RDTC to Grand Prairie or Ellenwood during the winter months. -
And I also do wish everyone going the best... real advice for RDTC....be safe, have fun but no horseplay, put in an honest days work.
Be sure to consider this too...

Lots of us on the forum have a few minutes on our ten hr. breaks or hometime to get on the net and be social. You will find that with Roehl drivers and frankly with most OTR drivers regardless of who they are driving for, most are willing to answer questions, spot for you, or give advice if you are genuine and ask. -
I will be starting RDTC July 29 been waiting a long time for this.
-
Passed my DOT physical today with a 2 year card! Hope to set up RDTC at Roehl to start July 29th, August 5th or 12th. Might see you there Brad. How did it go for you today Chris? Hope well!

It would be nice to see you there to got my CDL permit today so I'm a go.

THAT IS GREAT NEWS!! I forgot about that little detail. I need to start studying tonight and plan to take it next week. How was it? Was it 3 parts? How many questions? In Ohio they said it would cost $27.00.
-
It was more easy than I thought it would be. All I had to take was the general knowledge part and vision test. The knowledge was 50 questions. I would call your local dmv and ask them what is required for your permit.
