I did that, one time, at a customer, unloading flour.

It was my 3rd load of the night and I was flat out dog butt tired. Anyway, I unloaded the #2 hopper, opened up #1, then hopped into the cab of the truck to warm up. Well, I wake up to hear the aerators just buzzing away on #1. Yeah... I had fallen asleep for about 45 minutes. Needless to say, I knew the first hopper was pretty well cleaned out

That lieutenant must've been sleeping during the first lecture in his fluid mechanics class; you know, when you learn that most fluids are non-compressible.....

Week 3 of being on my own . I’m loving it ! I’ve got to experience a clogged aerator and a leaky hopper valve ! Oh and a “wet load” . I’ve found when it’s good it’s real good and when it’s bad it’s still a lot better than most jobs , most unloads take about 45 min to 2.25 hours . Depending on how far the silo is from the fill box . I haven’t been rushing I’ve been running between 12 and 14 psi . I have had guys pull in after I’ve been unloading for about 20 minutes , they set up start the pto and finish about 30 min before me .. a little humbling but after unplugging the trailer for 40 minutes with that dough load I’d much rather take my time then have to do that again !! If you’re thinking about hauling flour I highly recommend it !!!! This job is awesome !

Thanks for the update. The only people who have never clogged up a pneumatic are the people who haven't driven one.

    Tip:

If you get plugged to the point that the usual unplug procedure isn’t working, simply shut off the valves and turn the PTO off for a few minutes to let the product settle. More often than not that’ll create just enough of an air pocket somewhere in the line to unplug it when you start back up.

We had a guy do that at a redi mix plant one night. Of course the alarm system was inoperable, as it had been forever. He filled the silo, and the dust collector (not a bag house on top, a system beside the silo) to the point of blowing the doors off the dust collector. Customer was really unhappy. Driver was permanently banned from there.
