The PRIME web site says to obtain a permit in my home state first.
Does this mean to take the written test at the local DMV and then go to Springfield?
Gracias!

Just applied last night after leaving a 10 year teamster warehouse job in California . I thank everyone on this thread and board for the information provided. Hope I'm accepted and look forward to a new career. I just moved to the Clarksville TN area... do you guys get alot of freight in that area? Whats your advice in Reefer vs Flatbed. Im 28 years old and used to physical labor.... wouldnt mind some extra work to keep me in shape. But please advise.

So do all Prime trucks have APU's on them? Also I saw it stated earlier in the thread that you have to take your CDL test in your home state correct?? Like if I obtained my CDL permit in the state of Georgia would I have to come back to Georgia to obtain my CDL license??

You will take the CDL test in Springfield mo, however it's not unheard of for people to take their test in their home state and then go to prime. In regards to the APU it is my understanding that company drivers get them on their issued tractors and lease operators have to pay a fee of sorts to get them
