It does have a battery but it won’t last very long not plugged in.

New trucks continue to grow every year and so does the angle of the windshield in order to help with aerodynamics. I’ve had a Peterbilt 579 I couldn’t even get close to touching the windshield or the GPS. This thing is a very cheap godsend.

Yeah, thanks, I'm gonna be putting it on the dash anyway cause I heard in the winter, it falls off if you put it on the windshield.

Garmin will get you lost in my hometown, it’ll truck routes are not, and non truck routes are good. Got many downtown with tree limbs beating top of condo trucks.

Rand McNally Motor Carrier Road Atlas. It's the paper book sold in every truck stop. The state pages at the front of the MCRA is the official place for restricted routes & low clearances. EVERY CDL driver should have the MCRA. You can use the paper copy for 2 years maybe 3. The more expensive laminated page version is not worth the extra money & has some drawbacks. I usually bought this year's book at end of year fir a big discount.

BEWARE truck stops sell a Rand McNally road atlas meant for car drivers. DO NOT buy that.

It has built-in battery but it is mean to stay plugged in during your working day. When you stop for a 10 hour, turn it off AND UN PLUG IT or take it off the mount you you aren't charging it all night while you sleep.

Thanks, why would Rand McNally sell a road atlas for cars... Do cars really travel to all 48 states or something or is it for RVs.
