I have 6 months experience now, I need to move on to something better. I was originally only going to do 3 months at the town bottom feeder but Conway got bought out.

    1. I want to do tanker or pneumatic with a future as a O/O grain hauling. I can't find any pneumatic companies that will hire me and my only tanker options seem to be Prime and Schneider.
    2. I've been keeping track of my miles and loads in a notebook and trying to run my truck as a 0/0. I'm having trouble calculating the FSC. For now I've just subtracted fuel from the .95 a mile pay O/O get at my company. I've completely stopped pay calculations as my new truck only gets 4.9 MPG where the last one got 7.5. What other things should I keep track of as a 0/0?
    3. Carrying cash is a lost art but I need to revive it. In the 6 months I've been issued 2 new cards. How much should I carry and in what denominations?
    4. The freightliner Cascadia Evo that my company has all have high back chairs. I'm too short and the only chair that I fit well in are the ones in Volvos. I tried sitting on pillows but they fell out at the fuel island. Any tips to make these chairs more comfortable as I assume every company that bought freightliners had them installed in them.
    5. Do they make bug bombs for trucks? We slip seat with our "Assigned" trucks and I work with alot of dirty dans.
    6. When should I start saving my recites (food, launder and such) for taxes? I was told I could deduct those expenses.
    7. I was rolling thru Amarillo when it was 34 degrees. I noticed water forming on the walls of the bridges coming out onto the road. I'm assuming that that was ice. Is that how it normally forms as it makes its way onto the road?
    8. Steering wheel alignment is my biggest pet peeve. My first truck had its almost completely to the side, my next one pulled to the shoulder and the wheel was slightly off to the right and my current one is at a 45* angle. I thought these things had to be aligned somewhat but I look over into daycabs and one SAIA driver had his almost upsidedown. Are messed up wheels normal?
    9. What are the benefits of split axle trailers?
    10. When I key up my CB it makes pacman noises when I have the talkback on. I just bought new coax and a new antenne and I used s SWR meter setting it up. I blew a fuse when I tested the old antennae.
    11. What makes Western Star and Mack the trucks that almost no one uses? I walked past a display for truck brand hats and they were the only two hat brands that no one had touched.

If your goal is to do grain hauling, then why not start there?

Not in otr, or maybe just me, but there's toll I have to pay cash since they don't accept credit cards. Also, sometimes your credit card company think someone stole your card, so it's good to have cash. I carry atleast 100

I'm assuming you never seen snow or ice before ^_^ bridges freeze first because there's air above and below the road, making it freeze up twice as fast as roads. It doesn't "form" up and go to the road like lava, it either rain, or precipitation, moisture, fog any of those can cause to road to be wet.

In the ltl, local world probably lol

Able to carry more weight on the trailer, for example instead if 34k on trailer, I'm able to put 40k on trailer

    feed tanker or blk liquid?
Fuel surcharge will rareley cover the entire loaded miles
Cash is really something few use just make sure you have cash access
CB antennas on Cascadias do not do very well
Save all receipts plus does company give per diem on check and report on W2 or non report on W2
12 yrs never had steering wheel be correct
Spread axle is what i assume you mean, on each axle you can have 20,000 pounds where fixed tandem can only have 17,000
as for Western Star and Mack not a clue

I called A&R and they have no southern Arizona openings. PRIME, Groendyke and Schneider have nothing as well.
