I only paid like 145 dollars a year on my 34000 dollar place valued at 69000 15 years later. (Paid off in 6.) We sold for 45000. Just enough to pay off the losses via student loans. (Totally ignoring the 135000 we sunk into the place to improve on it and bring it to modern code. That was tough) We were not going to be in debt to uncle sam one more day because what they were getting ready to do was at that time rather grosteque. However...
