OK what is with these posts without details.
How do you know he was a DOT officer?
He could be impersonating one.
Yep you sure are.
You forgot to get a lollipop from the officer.
Nothing, you experienced something many of us have, and you didn't have to deal with the BS.
I had a driver who had a car come onto the freeway, cut off another car, the second car spun out, and my driver nailed the car hard as it went across the road, no time to even stop; it happened so fast the driver could not react. But everyone was alright.
Tell me how this works while you are driving. can you put it on cruise and get out of the cab to look around?
Are you married?
If not, it is not cheating.
Don't stress unless you are married.
Understandable, but it wasn't your mistake.
Relax.
Good luck in your new job, you will do well in it if this event is all you have.

Don’t take this the wrong way, but it seems as if you’re completely off on the story. The GOAL was for the backing incident. And the cheating part while that’s your opinion, I’m thankful for it. Just adding context as to where my mind was at the time.
anyways, thanks for helping. -

Welcome to Trucking 2025.
Your on Parole if you're lucky enough to get a job that makes 55Ka year
with a driver facing camera -
Get the report AND a copy of the report 'key' so you can translate those margin boxes full of numbers running down both sides for every MVA you encounter during your career.
Sometimes those little boxes can make what appears to be totally not 'at fault' report into one that places some blame on you.
Insurance carriers will argue anytime both parties show some negligence.
I always offered copies of reports with the key to a bunch of drivers.Sirscrapntruckalot Thanks this. -
The Goal issue is not the problem; the blowing off the damage is, it costs money to fix things, and that sometimes is trivialized by the driver who has no skin in the game at all. We should seek a solution by legally charging employees for damages.
As for the incident, you asked if you were screwed, you are not, it is clear a no-fault incident and you can move on with both issues.
My message with you on the girlfriend part is clear: you are driving a vehicle that can kill people if you make a mistake. The society has become more stupid with relationships in the past 50 years, thinking that a girlfriend is a commitment and all of that. You have no control over that because you are not in a committed relationship and you need to focus on the truck driving not the crap at home.
Why do I say this?
Because i have had drivers who fell part because they hooked up with a ****** and then when she did her thing while they were on the road, they could not handle it. Too bad I told them, their job is not to worry about that but the safety of others.
