Nubie looking to get into car hauling

Cassens hires new cdl school grads for car hauling.

This one hired a new cdl school grad recently. Not normally their policy, but can bend the rules for a good applicant.

 

Where you live and how often you want/need to get home is a very large factor in which company you go with.

Cassens isn’t out west. I am not certain which carhaul jobs out west would be your best choice. I would interview all of the carriers operating in your area and see what a brand new guy would expect to make also what their top performers make. That will give you an idea of what you could eventually earn.

 

Look at tanker work. Won't take long to haul cryogenics and pay can jump to $140G or in that area.
What's the nearest city/town to your location?
@superpet39 probably give some good advice & leads on tanker work in California, including cryogenics.

 

Try United Road maybe ? I don't know if they run the left coast or not..

 

In N California you have slim pickings.
Pasha runs out of the San Fran port,
Tesla runs their own fleet out of Fremont and pays well last I heard but they have you running short stuff into the Bay area all the time. Tesla may have work running 5 car stuff. Professional Auto Transport out of Mira Loma.
North American Auto Transport is a Jack Cooper subsidiary meaning they are Teamsters but the contract is not the same as the Carhaul master contract.
Accelerated Services is out of Parker, Co and they run all over but be careful of any lease/purchase program. I personally think lease/purchase is for guys that can't do math but I've never looked at it closely.
Check out AHAA website https://autohaulersamerica.com/# and make some cold calls for the smaller outfits in your neighborhood, some are out of Idaho and Montana but run your way.
Good luck and when you do cold calls remember you're looking for information as well as a job so don't be timid with the questions.
