Just want to clarify this rumor regarding o/o taking the truck when they decide to leave or contract cancel. If you decide (or have to for what ever reason) pathways with swift IEL will not let you take the truck UNLESS you pay it off first other wise you have to turn it in and call it a loss.
Its in the IEL section of your contract (not the swift contractor section).
So their it goes straight from IEL

don't quote me on the specific's but IEL is somehow owned by swift. Indirectly or otherwise it's part of IEL's Lease agreement that you cannot Pull anything other then swift equipment. So no you cannot take your truck anywhere else unless its paid off. However You can technically not run the truck and just continue to make the payments on it. That's Probably not something you can/want to do. If you really want to keep the truck i suggest trying to put another driver in it or a team, But I'm pretty sure that's not something you want to do either. Since you probably want to just take it outside swift and run. Either way if you decide not to run with swift but keeping the truck " MAKE SURE YOUR NOT INSIDE THE GATES AT A TERMINAL WHEN YOU TERMINATE YOUR CONTRACT WITH SWIFT." Park it somewhere safe and take any equipment that belongs to swift back to them. Otherwise you will almost assuredly get locked inside the gate and you will have a hell of a time getting out of the terminal with the truck.

Also get verification of all returned equipment and don't go out burning bridges otherwise swift will light a fire under your DAC report. My suggestion is to get your DM to sign off on the equipment return if that's the route you take but atleast make sure someone signs off on everything you give back to swift. Don't hand it over without a signature on some sort of note. And then maybe go have a notary sign off on it or something if you feel uneasy about it.
