the only thing I can suggest is to try the oilfield forums. Tough job, but the money is good.blairandgretchen and ZEBOV Thank this. -
Zebov....im in training right now with a great company for my first driving. There is so much to learn from driving aspect and rules and regs of each state. Weigh stations and inspection stations in the same state 10 miles apart. Weight restrictions for California and their speed limits for trucks. Not to mention best routes to take to get where you are going. Sometimes state highways and backroads are the best option. Setting up at the dock to back in. What are the besf truck stops. How to climb the rockies and sneaking a bit of the straight line to set up on a right hand turn. Plus more. This is what I learned in 4 weeks of training thus far. Im sure the otber guys and gals here will attest that this is just the tip of the iceberg. Also, I have a Bachelors in English literature and my teaching liscence and I cant find work. Though I think part of it is I am a horrible teacher lol. My point...we all got to pay our dues. Find a big starter company. Drive for two years. Get your experience. Learn everything you can. Save up all the money you can then and only then should you think of being an o/o. Hope this helps. God bless.
blairandgretchen and ZEBOV Thank this. -
I like TripleSix's suggestion, the oil field forums. Young guy. Fairly footloose. Do some trucking in oil field industry and make some $$. That's the ticket.
Any record of threatening ANYONE with physical violence is an anchor that will hang with OP for a long, long time. And no, buying a truck will not help you. Local work wouldn't be so romantically-notioned as oil field work... either way just have to knock on enough doors.
I do NOT agree that you have to start with a lousy company. NO. NO. NO.
Not a good idea. -
