Those are the same type who ask for a raise and say they'll be extra good at their job then. People want more before earning it these days.

Since you don't have a auto restriction on your
CDL and don't know how to drive a manual.
    You either:
    A. Had to drive a manual at some time and took
    The CDL test in one.
    Or
    B. Your school or the person testing you or
Somebody lied somewhere along the way for you
To not have the auto restriction on your license.
    That's called fraud.

It's not just trucking, sadly it's our entire society. Everyone is quick to lie, cheat, and defraud their way into getting something they don't deserve, or haven't worked for or earned.

When they don't get it, they will cry and accuse of some sort of discrimination. How could anybody turn them down.... Hell growing up always getting participation trophies you know.

Hey guys. Those of us who don’t know how to shift deserve equal treatment. Companies need to provide an automatic to us. :)

That’s not true. Many states only started enforcing the automatic restriction recently. My company routinely sent guys in automatics for years and never had the restrictions implemented. It’s only the last 2-3 years that the state has been enforcing it.

I went up to the Mack plant in Macungie Pa. years back,to pick up a new road tractor going to the port of Baltimore. Detached my lowboy, the loader showed me which truck was mine, said go ahead and load it. Got in it,it was an automatic, for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to get it to move. First and only class 8 automatic truck I ever drove, had to call the guy back out to show me how to move it. Never thought I'd see the day when automatic trucks would be the norm.

or, if one does not know how to shift, why should THAT company accommodate you guys, when maybe a couple of dozen applicants can shift?
