I volunteered myself for a level 2 after maintaining eye contact with smokey doing 68 in a 65.

    He pulled me over.

Anyhow he's going over my log book and points out that I'm sleeper birth at shipper. I explain to him its the way I was taught and have always done that. When I'm at the dock they relieve me of duty and I go sleeper berth. He ask me where am I when I'm logged SB. I tell him I'm actually in sleeper when I log it.

Something about drivers doing it to save hours(no #### sherlock) and we cant do it.

Was this him interpreting the rules his own way or is he right?

So did he gig you? You just miffed him for the stare down. I have always logged 15 minutes for anything, then OD or SB. Never had a problem.

If relieved of all responsibility for vehicle, may be logged off duty or sleeper.

You might have an exemption letter from your company in the permit book stating such.

I wouldn't worry about it.You just got a nitpicking cop that don't have anything better to do then pick on truckdrivers.Line 1 or 2 it shouldn't matter they both mean you're relieved of all duties.
