Some trainers that train teams sit their butt in the jump seat and monitor the driving the whole time and just let the husband and wife do the driving. Fleet managers and planners try to plan loads according to teaching styles of trainer. The key is to get a trainer who cares about training and not just about making money. The money doesn't hurt but you should take pride in the product you're producing also.

I took a picture of the side of the Covennant truck parked in the fuel island at the Petro at Blake ranch Rd, I-40 in AZ this morning. I guess his "master trainer" had told him it was cool to just park up and look cool in the stool while we couldn't get fuel (see - it alll rhymes).

Anyways. I sent it to Truckduo. He loved it.

It said - "THE FREEDOM FLEET".

    What does that mean?

I have "Freedom Fleet" sticker on my truck. It just means that you're a Veterans of the armed forces of the United States. We currently have about 270 vets that drive for us including myself. Where are my fellow Devil Dogs at?!?!?!?!

Ya know, them Covenant company owners are sure blessed with record profits, and the arrogance to go along with them.
So much so, that they are shoving their dogma down our throats in the form of 'captive advertising' whenever we are so unfortunate as to have one of their trailers in front of us.
I wonder how many drivers are being screwed out of their rightful pay so that the owners can enjoy as many of 'God's blessings' as possible....

I have "Covenant Safety" saved permanently in my phone - not kidding.

I've seen some terrible driving out of this company over the years.

Is this just a thread looking for recruitment bonuses, or am I being too harsh?

    Shaggy Thanks this.

Ok - thanks. I never would have guessed that one.
We've been on a kick lately about how these companies advertise "FREEDOM", yet the drivers can't feed their family at home.

So, did Covenant go for the tax breaks to attract vets as well? I like it how they package it up all nice and make it look good to the general public.

Surfer Joe and Shaggy Thank this.

First off I could care less about recruiting. Avoided it in the Marines I #### sure don't have any interest in doing it as a civilian. I made a thread to answer questions like most of the other company threads have. If you don't like the thread why don't you hit the unsubscribed button. Okay chief??

They did that program that a lot of starters do where you can use your VA Benefits for up to a year in an "OJT Apprenticship" program. Not sure if that answered your question or not.

What's the idle policy at Covenant ?

Do you still get Amazon points for sweating your ### off in the summer ?

    Shaggy Thanks this.
