Long enough that it didn't snap and spray oil all over the trees, anyway.

With the center mounted reel like that most like 200-300 feet. The one I drove had 150’ of 1” hose on one side and 100’ of 1 1/2” on the other with a short 50’ 2” mounted on the side up by the cab hooked up to a high flow pump that would do over 150 gallons a minute.

what i wonder is....was the hose connected to the oil pipe, that comes out of the foundation..??

i thought i heard a noise, sounded like something ripping apart..at about the 1:15 point, as the hose "seemed" to be at rest, not moving anymore...

if so, that oil tank in the house, could have be ripped open, maybe even tipped over.

if i were that home owner?

that company will be buying me an all new oil tank, clean up, and most certainly a foundation repair.

sucks to be him AND his company right about now....

looks like CT state plates too.

I heard the noise too and if you watch closely when the truck goes over the bank to see a puff of dirt from the tire blowing when it hits the tree. I thought it was originally the hose separating from the reel but noticed the hose didn’t move. Most of those fill pipes dont have a connection. Just a 6-12” nozzle shoved in the pipe. Its like filling up your truck but the hose flows 50-60gpm not 25.

Accident happened in Wilton,CT,north of Norwalk.
In some parts of that state they’re more “treehugger” than the entire state of Massachusetts!!
Either way it doesn’t look good for the oil company’s insurance or contract!

well, i had oil heat, then switched over to gas. i can assure you that the oil fill pipe, had threads on it, and the nozzle has them too, and it IS secured to the pipe.

Well they’ll send hazmat response automatically just on the grounds that a vehicle hauling hazmat was involved.
