Ois pay terrible for a owner operator. Company drivers getting paid 18 bucks an hour to drive a CONT

Heard you loud and clear. Over and out.

 

18 bucks an hour is the going rate for 80
Percent of local jobs, and that's in the city.
So what's the problem.
The farther you get away from a city the lower the pay goes.

Don't believe what you read on TTR from all these
Local guys claiming to make 28 bucks an hour
And get 70 hours a week with time and a half everyweek.
That's a small minority. Real small.

The rest are humping freight for 17/18 bucks an hour
And begging for a couple hours overtime.
If their wives didn't have a full time job,they would
Have to move out of town.

Why should they pay more,
You got every Tom,dick and harry wanting to be
Home every night. They can take it or leave it.
There's a never ending supply of drivers who
Want to be home with wife and kids.

Why would they pay 25 an hour,when another
Guy will do the same job for 16 an hour.
It's just smart business.

 

Well I must be one of the rear ones. I make 28 an hour and get 10 hours overtime a week. Off weekends, nights, holidays and 4 weeks vacation.

 

$18.00 an hour? Righteous bucks, dude! Me? All I need is a cool buzz and some tasty waves!

 

I worked local for $16.50 before moving on to THE company I planned to retire with. There was no overtime either. It was all straight time bro lol

 

why is the pay so bad? I got paid $20/hr working in a warehouse using a forklift.a yard dog gets paid more.

 

Because they know they can get away with it. I took the pay cut at the time to go over to the LTL side. I made the sacrifice. I was getting paid dirt, but with the extra time home, I sent and got my endorsements.

As soon as I did that I was out!

 

where i live people loading trailers, make more than that.

 

Actually, good jobs do advertise on Craigslist.
