My first gig was team driving. We were both brand new lol. He was a youngster early 20's. I remember saying a little prayer when I'd hit the sack asking Jesus to please keep junior from running us off a cliff. I guess it worked as we made it exactly One Year , both in one piece

Depends on the person. I got my best sleep on long runs. Partner would get on highway and set cruise. Short trips were no fun.

They want me to run one more. Ohio to Phoenix Empty. That works for me. I need to get to the Vegas DMV soon. Drop the truck and trailer at the OC and walk away.

If they kept on that, you would have stayed.

They easily could have kept me. But they sent me to a high turn over account. And the dispatchers kept saying how they want me on it all summer. Started me off with nothing good and nothing to look forward to. I mean I get it, corporate wants profit and doesn’t care about drivers, I would have done 10 hours a day no problem, but the way they want it. No thanks.

There’s a brake light out on the trailer, but there’s literally an entire empty garage here in the middle of Ohio so they got me in immediately.

I had two local company jobs. 8 to 10 hour day. We'll it was 13 to 15 plus just 2 hour commute. They lie.

I ended up buying a newer truck and going back to Landstar.

I’m on the edge of buying a truck… 3 months at fedex gives me a year. I think I could swing a used truck pretty easily by then

I don't advise it. If I could go to Walmart I would make more. You could try company with tanker or look at fuel hauling on the West coast. Some people here claim 140k or 1xx doing fuel. Idk Or maybe just fuel hauling.

As owner op the biggest advantage is time off. I'm thinking about flying to Europe for a couple of weeks. Maybe go to Egypt and see pyramids, Luxor.
