    Comparing truckload with LTL is like apples to oranges. I don't know of any truckload company that pays as well as most LTL companies. Just the nature of the beast. .58 cpm isn't even top pay rate for us. That's the bottom of the barrel :biggrin_25525:

    Did the app already, but that's as far as it's gone. I called once to check on the status and was told that they're reviewing the applications. My wife knows one of the sales reps and gave her my name even though it's a different dept. That's about it. I'm wondering if they might be holding off because it's so close to the holidays.

    I do not work for old dominion but pull freight for them. All the guys here at OD are happy and enjoy coming to work. They also have rooms for guys coming in from out of state to stay at the terminals.

    Aren't you working all night? Most new line haul drivers work overnight, esp the wild ones.

    He got very lucky , in a period of expansion - and got off nights and being away from home before the boogie man got him.

    But yes - most new hires don't land daytime or bid runs till 1-2 years in.
