I have a way for you to come back, like Odysseus. In August or September, I am seriously considering buying a truck and leasing it onto Swift and I will be needing a good driver for it. Prefer a conscientious, professional driver such as yourself who already knows the Swift game, terminals, qualcomm etc. Anyway, something to think about, and I know it's a ways off yet.

    JustSonny Thanks this.

You got a problem before you start....Swift has to approve any driver YOU may want to hire!:biggrin_25510:

Course....OBGYN could change his name, get a new license, go back to Millington and hope they don't recognize him!:yes2557:

Definitely something that I'll consider. I'm not sure, though, that I would want to go back to working for a training company even if I was actually employed by an OO. The microscopic scrutiny is tough on an old guy like me. I'm not saying that I want the freedom to break rules but I am saying that rules that supercede what DOT requires is not my cup of tea.

While I tend to agree with the rules that go beyond DOT requirements, it is precisely these rules and expectations that have kept DOT off our backs for the most part.

It will be interesting to see how Swift fares with the new sheriff (CSA2010) in town. Believe me when I say, that, for Swift drivers' sake, I hope all goes well. Swift has done well in the past but I'm thinking that might change. Not exactly sure why I think that, just a gut feeling.

The reason they're going "above and beyond" what DOT requires is because of that "new sheriff."

Comeon Oldnew... you knew it was going to get seriously chicken-manure after this deal got into full swing, now didn't ya? Do you think its going to be any different anywhere else? Here's something else that may interest you...

The intent was always to come down on drivers with CSA... that's ye olde "other shoe."

Give it a year and the crashing thud you'll hear is that shoe giving a whole lot of drivers the regulatory boot...

The NEW SHERIFF was always a welcome sight in the old west , had everyones support until the town was cleaned up , then the support started to fade when the revenue from the BAD guys dried up.

This NEW SHERIFF (CSA) will be no different , when as IP noted the other shoe falls and they find that there is a real shortage of CSA type drivers and the freight does not get moved, makes you wonder what support it will get then.
