Thanks for the posts... Still loving this thread. Very encouraging, I got to stop working in this prison. Before I become an inmate for killing one of these wanna be gangsters.

Alabama, I really don't want to go into specifics on these forums. Not trying to be rude. I hope you understand.

Should be some cheap 160 hrs. schools in your state. Community colleges are real cheap compared to private schools.
Celadon has a school in Gadsden for trucking company school, but private schools give you more options.

Thanks China but with I've been researching since June... Private school and trying to work full time job with s family is gonna be tough.

I believe I'm gonna go the company route and so far Millis is top choice or maybe Roehl as second... I have resigned to the fact that I'm gonna have to pay my dues for the first two years then move on to something better.

If I'm you I would place Millis over Roehl. If you looking for a private school the schools in North Carolina are cheaper than most but Millis is a solid start to get your year in and it's only going cost you $2500 if you leave early you stay 18 months you reimburse that to you. Everybody situation is different and if you see a offer you can't refuse that's closer to your home which more than likely you will that $2500 is really a small price to pay for a great paying position

Yeah, my wife took two weeks off from work to get her CDL. She used Calhoun Community College just outside Decatur, AL. Worth every penny to her, she says that it was the best vacation she has ever taken from work...

Greetings from Iowa! I'm at the famous Iowa 80, the world's largest truck stop. This place is truly impressive. Stop in if you get the opportunity. It has a small mini-mall, a huge food court, a really nice restaurant, a movie theater (free, by the way), a museum next door, and tons of amenities. I had a long day yesterday and very little sleep, so I didn't get to my weekly mileage update. Yesterday was the end of week 5. I was at 11,750. Last week's miles were a bit on the disappointing side, but such is life. I got another 500 today, so at least I started the new week off strong. Getting so close to the end I can already taste it. Perry and I discussed my progress this morning, and I was thrilled to hear that he feels I'm ready to leave the truck. Just need 2750 more miles. And, of course, need to pass the CDL test on Saturday. It's all coming together, and I feel very relaxed about the upcoming test. It almost doesn't even seem real, I'm going to see my wife soon!
