I agree one should not have to.
At the same time the companies should just leave the drivers hours alone. If so and so does not have such a such hours give the load to someone who does.

I don't run recaps. That was the last day of my cycle before I had to take a 34.
Still, if I wanted to document all my drive time on paper, I could... but that's the whole purpose of having this electronic gizmo. To help/enforce my proper use of hours of service.
When the device intended to assist in HOS compliance is giving drivers bad data, there's something severely wrong.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
That's Peoplenet for ya.
-
The in-motion driver facing screen GUI and data is defined by Crete. The Peoplenet data you see when the truck is stopped is accurate.O.Henry Thanks this.

and it was done on paper for all those years.
Farmerbob1 Thanks this. -
Did you ever receive any response from Crete?
-
Nope, unless someone else who responded here is from Crete, but didn't say so.
Now that I have it all written down, I might make an effort to find email addresses of a couple Crete bigwigs and cc three or four of them.
**shrug** -
Your very smart and knowledgeable. But is this Crete writing their own program or another company?? That makes a difference.Farmerbob1 Thanks this.
-
From what I have been able to piece together, the software Crete is using has some user-facing components which are customizable by the company.
Macros, GUI's, those sorts of things. -
Customizable, yes, but the displayed data is still from the programming that came from PeopleNet.
Crete chooses what you see, but the actual data comes from the system and cannot be changed. If the info is incorrect, it is either reading from the wrong place, or it is being calculated incorrectly by the underlying programming.
