Yep. Mainly because you don't really have a lot of surface contact providing friction from downforce. With the shape of these forward/rearward movement would be taken care of by strap location easily.

It's the sideways that would be my biggest concern. By blocking and belly wrapping, you will have one piece which will double the amount of surface contact.

And a belly wrap will choke the load as well if ut does start to move.

Hope that makes sense, don't want to end up in the corner with 1xfluffy.

Replied before you updated the primary post.

Where the “feet” are, could you put a 2X4, flat on dunnage, would that fit?

The loop straps do have concern, as they only pull out. Could try to use a 2 in. ( would need 4) wrap each end of the pipe. From deck, wrap over, around and back over pipe end, under the next one to deck, then the same for the other. Put ratchets on the outside short pull side.

If you can block the ends and do the choke as above, that should keep them apart and secure as well.

Didn't think about the 2" strap with ratchets both side, choking and pulling out - that would have worked.

I don't haul a lot of cylindrical stuff so my brain doesn't work that good.

Yes - the 2' are only to protect one pipe from the other - they have all the lugs and what not that would rub and damage when it would eventually shuffle together.

Not sure what you mean by the '2 by 4 , flat on dunnage'.

On the 4X4, place a piece of 2X4 on the wide side, flat on top of the 4X4. Then the 2X4 against the edge of the feet. May have to put in a couple of nails to hold.

What a shame when the shipper ties your hands but expects you to tie the load down damage free.
If you have the legs in the front as welI,I would hook a chain to the legs and pull front and back.
Where the straps go over the insulation, how about 5 gallon plastic buckets.
Cut the bottom out and cut them in half .
Put the halfs over the padding.
That would give you more bearing surface and might not sink in....
    Just spitballing.....

    you got your trailer stretched?
those two 8 ft. blocks near the belly should probably be nailed to your deck, otherwise the lack of weight of the load and likelihood of trailer "bellying" wil probably shake them right out.
what are those "blanket looking things" at each end? Did they use them as softeners for slings? If so you might strap over them...if the softener is good enough to support the weight of the piece in a sling, then you might be able to snug your strap up a little more right there.
At the rear, where you go over both, I would take that one, go over the short piece, then under the longer one, that will securely fasten the short one and keep them separate. Then add another strap right there over just the longer one, securing that one too.
I can't really tell from the picture, but if they're staggered just right, you might be able to do the same in the front? Going over the short one and under the long one to keep them separate. Then another strap on just the longer one...

Good luck, hopefully it's an air ride trailer...

I'm gonna run a couple of screws into the dunnage just to prevent the 'belly bounce'.

The blanket things are something new - they're just wire tied around the front and back - not sling material by any stretch.

Copy the 'over under' on the rear - unfortunately that's the ONLY place the gaps line up to be able to tightly strap the two down together.

Yup - it's air ride. And YES - gotta LOVE these shippers that thought they were getting drivers who also moonlight as 'magicians'.

Copy that on bein' a magician! The fab shop I was at would load pretty much the same way. Lots of painted funky shapes that the guys would just throw on the trailer with no rhyme or reason.
Then I would have to secure it and deliver it without damage, HA!

Now take this with a grain of salt as I chain all my loads down.

How about 4 shackles per pipe through the bolt holes in the flanges (2 at each end) and small chain like 5/16 (since they don’t weigh nothin) the inner pipe is structural and won’t require being strapped (like a bridge beam load). The flanges don’t look like they are threaded Or machined

    Just a thought
