Over half of the guys at my barn have 20+ years seniority the most of them still unloading 15k pounds a day down a ramp. Four day work week, 5 weeks vacation and a very good living for there family's keeps them coming in everyday I guess.

Here on the sandbar...the coca-cola guy an the Pepsi guy been there for years. My sandbar is likely a cushy job for them though. Traffic only sucks in the summer, an some places still shut down during the winter. If they got the Hatteras route that's cake...4 towns, 1 large grocery store, several little spots. Just about all can fit the trucks, some can't but there is usually a large enough lot next door to wherever they need to deliver.
Hell if it's hourly pay, I'm sure their not #####ing during the summer sitting with traffic now that I think about it. I'd rather be stuck in my sandbar traffic then any traffic over on the mainland. Heh.
@FlaSwampRat - I get a discount on my Coca-Cola when I visit FL right? HA! I kid I kid.
I can drink either. I prefer Pepsi if fountain, and Coca-Cola if it's 2 liter, can, bottle, etc. Makes it easier when ordering when out to eat..."What would you like to drink?" Me: "Coke or Pepsi, Don't matter. I like both ". Funny when you get the not so smart waiter.
An #### it...all you people who beat me to the post with the Coke jokes...I tip my hat to you.
Ah one last thing to my novel....Why does it matter what another driver decides to do? Whether, OTR, LTL, Local, etc etc Long as your happy where you are...who cares what anyone else does, or thinks. Your job your life. Not my job to judge anyone or their job choice. I leave that to social media. I'm just happy someone has a job.

$28/hr to push Rd pallets? Doesn't seem to bad. I actually like it better than when I was at $38/hr just driving for the most part before I retired. Who do you work for and how much do you get paid for doing so much less work? Help these guys out and tell them where they should be working.

So you have to spend 2 1/2 hours at the grocery store to deliver 3 pallets because there were 10 vendors in front of you? Oh well, get those other 19 stops done!
Also it should be mentioned that coca cola distribution is divided up to regional franchises, so just because it works one way at a company doesnt mean itll be that way somewhere else.FlaSwampRat Thanks this.
