    Hey guys!
So I just got an offer from a friend of my brother in laws. Anyway, it’s for a 2013 international prostar. For $20,000. I will attach below what he wrote regarding the work on the truck and it’s condition. The truck will be used to do loads in port Newark only. (So pick up a container from the ports of Newark and deliver to destination). I get paid per load. I’ve never done port work before. Only once and it was a 1.45 hour wait. The fuel I'd pay for obviously, and repairs . I don’t know what I’m getting myself into though. So I need advice. I’d greatly appreciate anyone who has port Newark experiences and/or who owns a prostar.

    what the guy texted me:
“It's a 2013 international prostar sleeper cab. They are known for having 2 issues. One is the emissions equipment and the electronics with that. So the emissions has been removed and hollowed out so it looks like it's there but it isnt. Which also makes it run better and have better mileage ect. The other issue was the head studs are known to have issues. So before anything went wrong the truck got disassembled and had head studs 3 times as strong as the original ones installed and a brand new head. So basically half the engine is brand new and only has 300 miles on it. So any issue that the truck could run across that's known has been upgraded or deleted. The whole truck only has like 315,000 miles but the head only has 300 to 350 miles on it. Everything was gone over by 2 separate mechanics and both said the truck was 100 percent. Brand new antifreeze, oil, fuel filter, everything was just greawd in suspension. It should be 100 percent solid.”

I’d appreciate any experienced insight. Thanks guys!!!

No ones going to reduce the price of a truck to do anyone any favors in this industry.

That's not much of a price reduction for if it's a Maxfarce.

What engine does it have? First thing is the delete, Unless you have a private shop that will work on that deleted engine your SOL. And if it's a Maxforce only a place that will work on it is a dealer, No dealership will touch it, and whats the $500, is that per week? I would run from this fast and far.

I know a mechanic who works on them deleted or not, but he tells the owners the truth, they’re junk trade them in on a good trucn, but most cant afford to trade, to much spent on it in repairs

Besides the engine being questionable, have you looked into insurance costs for a new O/O ?
