Im kinda sketched, but i assume the one positive i have is that im 21 years old so ill have a higher HR requirement if they base it on age/weight.

The DOT physical they gave me there was the most intensive I've ever had and I've had a lot of them in the last 4 years. There were only 3 of us in the group and they detected a very small hernia in one guy about my age. The medical assistant or whatever, did not give the guy a 2 year card, only 3 months. He didn't come back the next day because he was pissed about it. The guy conducting the orientation was even trying to contact the guy via phone on the 2nd day.

Just start walking and do squats. DON'T over do it. A little goes a long way, especially walking if your not used to it. Try and ween yourself of caffeine if you drink coffee or energy drinks.

Right on bru. & it wouldn't hurt to find time to keep it up after you get hired too. Like do laps around the lot during live loads. Some guys might look at you funny but that's only cuz they're thinking "Hey that's a good idea. I oughta be doing that too." or "maybe if I look at him funny then he will think he sucks and stop doing that, and then I won't have to feel so ###### self-conscious about not doing anything."

I plan on doing just that, at my weight, i figure if i keep my eating habits and start driving trucks where my job consists of sitting for long periods of time i wont live as long as i should., last week i cut Soda completely out of my diet, ive switched to just water, hardest part i assume is finding healthy food at truck stops lol.

Yeah I heard that. In the last 18 months I went up from 260 to 300. And so the battle begins.
Kudos on the no soda. It's tough at first but before long you wont miss it at all. I'm doing water only too. Good stuff once you get a taste for it. In fact the thought of drinking soda disgusts me now. Saved up some empty 32oz gatorade bottles for constant water inventory. Fill one or two every rest area. If you ever get up to the rest area on Dead Man's Pass in eastern Oregon, there's some darn good water out the faucet in the back of the building. You start to become a water connoiseur. Stock up to the top at a place like that.
Healthy eating not as tough as it might first seem. Get the frequent user cards and save the points. They add up quick. Can get fresh apples and nanners for free. And orange juice. Look for the not-from-concentrate, no vitamins added. Good stuff. Some of those juices called Naked are good stuff too. Sometimes you can find hard boiled eggs. But always stay away from baby carrots. Theyre a lot less natural than thry appear.
Sometimes you pick up or deliver near a store that sells groceries, you can walk over there and stock up on some fresh plants. And those V8 juices last awhile at room temperature as long as they're not opened. Get the big bottles at the grocery stores, real cheap. Spicy low sodium is my flave. But they have some new ones too. Once you open em you gotta down em in like 36 hours though, otherwise they start to ferment. You can tell cuz it hisses like soda when you open it. Still technically edible but not as tasty.
Oh and there's lots of subways. Get the veggie, no cheese, no sauce. A salad sandwich. There's a breakfast sandwich for around the same price, you can get that if you want egg, order it no cheese and no meat, so then its just a salad sandwich with egg. Not too bad. I have them put the tomatoes, olives and japalenos on before the toasting, then the rest of the plants on after. It tastes better than it sounds, like all juicy and stuff, and you don't get sick of em like you would if you were eating all those salty preservative-laden cold cuts and other various assorted dead animal chunks dragging you down all day.Last edited: Oct 11, 2017

This is the problem my husband ran into-finding reasonably healthy options at truck stops. We solved this problem by making sure we do a grocery stop before he leaves. I also cook, vacuum seal and freeze portions of the meals I cook at home for him.
His in truck freezer doesn't hold a lot so we bought a small freezer from Amazon and between that and the fridge we're able to get about a months worth of meals in there. The best part is he can stay at rest areas and not have to worry about finding something to eat.MarkH129 Thanks this. -
Anything is possible you know what needs to be fixed so I suggest getting that taken care of before you go to orientation. It doesn't matter what all you can do,if you fail your physical you'll get sent home.
