The truckstop that I saw the law come check on the drunk driver was at the old drivers on I 40 in NM.
The time they tried to search my truck was on the side of the road in Texas. I was stopped for speeding by an unmarked black drug task force car, and he wrote a warning but wouldn't let me sign it and be on my way.
Instead he stalled, pretending to be checking out my brand new first load drive tires and such, untill the canine officer showed up. By then I was getting tired of the hassle myself and in no mood to play their game, just to meet the dogs quota.

To be clear, I rarely drink a beer at all, I have in the past drank one or two either inside of a truckstop, or out in the lot with other drivers, I have never took a beer to my truck and drank it, never had the urge to set by myself and drink anything. lol

I was selling watermelons one time long ago. I was selling them for $3.00 and was not making any money. So, I then decided to sell them 2 for $5.00 and I sold a lot more.

When I was a youngster, you could get watermelons for 2 cents a pound.

Back when I was young and dumb. I had a cabover dump, in those days we would do light checks, going down the road when another driver was behind us.
I had done one at quitting time then was pulled over 15 minutes or so for brake lights by a county mountie.
The first words out of his mouth, was you can't drive on my effin road with no brake lights. I told him I wouldn't have been on it, If I had known it was his, so we got off to a bad start right away.
I then told him I knew my brake lights were working, so come up with another reason for pulling me over.
We were having a fish fry that evening, so I had stopped and bought a case of beer, and had it in an ice chest on my doghouse.
He kept insisting I had no brake lights and finally I told him to get in and mash the brake, I would look myself, not even thinking about the bee.
Sure enough, I didn't have any brake lights, and luckily he didn't mention the beer. lol
Got a ticket but still considered myself lucky that time. lol

So we know that there is at least one idiot you tuber, that lets an officer climb in his truck.
Talk to a lawyer, don't take my word for it. any lawyer worth his salt will tell you to tell them to step back off of your step, you or the trucking company is liable for them if they are on your truck, period and it has been proven in court.
Customs can and will search your truck, no one else can if you refuse without a warrant, except in extinuating circumstances, like they have info you have kidnapped a kid or something.

I have my reasons to not ever let them search anything again. I used to let them, they abused that power and it hass not happened again, nor will it. period.
All my dot friends will tell you that they always act like they can, but can't if a guy is halfway informed about the law.

The bill of rights is for the benefit of law abiding citizens . No need to justify why you don't want them in your truck.

We obviously don't travel the same freight lanes.

And as a later thought I would like to add that A squared + B squared = C squared.

A few years back I my BIL's pickup broke down, So I sent my 16 year old CLEAN CUT daughter on a road trip to take him my bike. so he would have some wheels for a couple of weeks. I am talking about a girl that made one B in second grade and all a's the rest of the time through graduation.
I had to take the plastic bed liner out of my pickup, so the rig was clean as they come, with nothing but her and her suitcase in it.
The nice Texas drug task force kept her sitting in the ditch for over 2 hours while they searched my pickup, with her permission.
Up until that time I always just told them to go ahead, that will never happen again. period.
When they did try to search my truck, the canine officer tried to get really hot, and they can run the dog around on the outside, which he did, then threw him back in his rig and drove off.
I told the other one, you are mad, but that is ok, you guys have too much power and tend to abuse it, go search someone you think might need it, and explained why, he did cool off a little.

I have to wonder what the op was thinking to even come up with a thread like this, why would a guy even think he needs to be another drivers tattle tail?
I know some mega companies offers rewards for drivers to rat out other ones in their company, I don't want to be associated with those that think that is easy money though.
