i was wondering how a out of state school works for example if you go to another state to get your cdl how do you end up with a cdl from your home state?

i live in new york, and went to school in indiana. i got my cdl in indiana by using the school's address (if i remember correctly) and then switched over to ny cdl as soon as i returned home.

i also live in ny what is the process you have to go through to switch it

its been a few years...i do know it was just money and a written test. also had to retake hazmat. no road test involved, just go to ny dmv and take written test(s). dont remember if i had to take written cdl test over or not, definitely had to take hazmat.

I live in NC and went to school in MO,and after i got my hard copy in MO brought it back to my state and they just issued me another one for here!!! Every state may be different but i paid $70 there for them and $120,eye and sign test, here to get them switched over..I had to have a hard copy to get them switched dmv won't accept paper work saying you passed your dot tests!!!
