I received my first citation in Allentown, PA for a over width violation - "Operated a vehicle exceeding 8 feet in width". Yeah, I went down a restricted road.. The local cop was nice enough and said if I contest the ticket, they usually knock it down to something that will not effect my license. My CDL is out of Texas, the ticket was in PA.. I have contested the ticket and have a hearing set for later this month in PA. However, I spoke with a lawyer and they said the violation does not give any points on my cdl or on a csa score and they recommend just pleading guilty. I called the Texas DPS office and they said that I will get 2 points for this violation. I told her what the lawyer said and she transferred me to someone who was clueless..
Does this violation put points on my CDL/CSA score?? Could it be possible to not get points from PA, but TX will give me points? Any help would be appreciated. I would like to avoid any points on my CDL. Thanks!
Over width points on CDL/CSA?

You could have avoided points by NOT moving the load till you was legal
