How can I find what each states requirements are for oversized loads? And what the requirements are for the size of the load? I didn't want to have to spend all day on the phone calling each state. Is there a book or anything?

Just get two 18" high banners, 6 or 8 flags on handles, a few that aren't on handles, and a minimum of one flashing light.

Then when you are assigned an oversize, the permits for each state will tell you what you need. Get anything additional prior to loading.

    My 2 cents

Screw all that noise, go to the state website for each state you’re going to run in and look for a provision sheet and/or an operation guide. Call them if you have to.

This. I've found so much inaccurate information in the books/websites that aggregate everything that it's not even funny.

Lots of states have an oversized manual or a website that lists everything in plain English. Some you have to go digging through their vehicle code. It's not that difficult, they can all be found online.

I found out the hard way years ago when just one page of over weight permit came from my co to the truck stop fax, the dot car that stopped me had the 8 other pages I should have got but back then it was just a small fine, and after I was all paid up he handed me a dog eared set of his states rules?
