P&D with big trailers

    I don't like doing down town Cleveland in a 28' trailer let alone a NYC with a 48' trailer and sleeper cab, god bless those people who do that.

    @snowlauncher nailed it. You can work alot faster with a 48' than heading back to the drop lot/barn to swap trailers & swing tools. In my case, I have a 55 mile commute back to the barn from my P&D area. I rather head back with a single long box from my last stop than backtrack to the drop lot and rehook a bunch of trailers.

    I had a 45' on my current run. I asked for a 48', because I had no problem pulling a 45' with the axles to the back. Plus, the extra couple feet helps when having to make pickups in route.

    Now my previous route on the other hand, going down there with a 48' is an exercise in futility.
