Good God. That's steep.
I knew it's pretty steep in my time and used it when we must, but those numbers are out of sight as far as I am concerned.
Steep enough to burn fuel over 322 and fight 80 across or down to G'burg and fight 30 across east. Fuel has to be cheaper.
Ohio to Illinois without the Toll Road is not a issue in my time. But I can tell you that those old roads, if not made bigger will have trouble with the extra traffic.
The T'Pike has to have been rebuilt two or three times by now and they keep increasing the money? You would think the whole #### thing would have been bought and paid for many times over by now.Farmerbob1, stayinback and muletrain Thank this. -

I have seen some strange decorations on trucks though. I could be mistaken. -
Maybe they handle cash trucks differently but if they somehow charged by weight they would be bombarded continuously by people claiming they were over charged and they have no way to back up any claim a 50 year old axle scale [that is never certified] might try and assert
And yes. I’m aware their website asks for a claimed gross weight but I don’t think it ultimately matters once you put in an axle count. Go across in a car and a 2 axle uhaul trailer and see how bad you get gouged.

It's been a long time since I paid a toll in Pa. I was always a company driver with a transponder. I think my last time using cash might have been around 2002. I have sit and listened to this weight v axles argument many times. I wonder what does the "toll ticket slip" say? If no mention of axles I would say it is weight only.
