Doing some wheel/tire switches today, got better arrangement now with tread depth, pattern etc., now we have one aluminum rim, facing outward and low and behold, in the past someone painted this rim black. Other than dismounting the tire, and switching rims, what’s a easy, effective way to remove paint from an aluminum rim? TIA

Oven cleaner may work for you. It is a very powerful cleaner.

Just to update, tried oven cleaner that was a no go. Evidently hi-temp paint must have been applied. Short of paying out of my own pocket for sand blasting, I switched rims, tire is in the same position, but now with a clean rim.

I'd just hit it with a fine grit paper on an orbital sander and hand sand the hard to reach spots. Maybe a light polish to make it match the rest of the rims.
