Have met the requisites for Jim Palmer and Prime. Is there a compelling reason to pick one over the other, or are they equally the same for a starter company? Training programs appear the same. Trying to do a pro/con, and wondering if anyone who has driven for both, or can shed some light on why they would choose one over the other.

Jim Palmer uses full size trucks. Prime uses small Eco trucks, but will give you a full size truck if you agree to a .05 cpm pay cut.
There's plenty of room in a Jim Palmer truck for a refrigerator, but in a Prime Eco truck, the passenger seat must be removed.

I would never consider a lightweight, no room. I am not a big guy, but a few extra feet can't be a bad thing, plus my better half wants to ride every once in a while, so I need the front seat and XL Twin.
So the cpm, Palmer is .40, and Prime is .41, but we are not talking millions, but close to $1,200 a year more at Prime if they averaged the same miles per week. I can't get anyone at Prime to tell me what they average for fuel bonus, but numerous drivers at Jim Palmer say they make between .03 and .04 cpm at the current prices, but said if the price shoots up, the cpm bonus rises.

Apples to Apples, or Oranges. The OTR biz is all the same #### to me - ####, being the operative word.

Not ever living in a truck again.... but I hope someone can direct you properly, Usual. And i mean that. Pat on the back for you guys that can tolerate that schtick.

Jim Palmer hands down. All the benefits of the freight that Prime has with a small company feel.

Jim Palmer has between 2 and 5 people per week in training so you will get far more one on one time with the instructors. Prime usually will have dozens of new hires per week.

Jim Palmer also does not have part of your pay as Per Diem like Prime does so you will have more of a write-off for it at the end of the year.
