trucks shouldn't be parked on off ramps its quite dangerous and illegal. Some police in certain states seem to close there eyes to it until there's an incident, i'd always try and find a walmart to park at, they were pretty tolerant as long as you parked way down the back and left before 7am

I pretty much spend every night on a ramp. Only way to run out your 11. Planning to stay at truck stops will cost you money and much aggravation. So much disinformation here. On ramps are perfectly fine to park on. I have never seen a car hit a truck on an on ramp. Really though I like to sleep with the truck slated up hill so I typically park on the off ramp up near the stop sign.

Why you bullshatting? It's not illegal in most states. Hell Texas and Colorado even put out trash cans for your convenience. The only states I know for sure illegal are VA and NC.

I see trucks parked 6 -7 deep on the ramp on 81 at one of the TAs near Harrisonburg all the time too. I'm sure it's an every night thing. I could be mistaken about VA but I know for sure it's now illegal in NC. IMO the ramp is the best parking spot. It's quiet, dark if you don't have street lights and your back on the road in no time.

IL has curbs on many approaches to ramps to discourage the practice.

As far as I know, it was illegal in IN, but I see it all the time in WI.

I was warned not to at the place I learned the most. I don't do it often, can't remember the last time, but parking at stores isn't always, possible, either, some really make that painful. Others, trucks park all over the no trucks signs.

Helps to know the local area, and not stand out.

I do a dedicated in Virginia early evenings and finish my clock at or around 6am and I see trucks on on ramps mostly, some exit ramps in some places along 81, but what I don't see anymore is trucks parked along state roads like 460 and 58, 17 in Virginia that have truck pulloffs,Im guessing people don't want to take a chance of getting mugged, shot or robbed,if I remember these types of places for trucks were used a lot but that was 50's 60's.

Getting hit by traffic is a concern, but also on some of these ramps Your there alone in sometimes a perfect situation for someone to rob or worse then rob you there no one around and they have the perfect get away.I think it is very dangerous to your own safety to park on ramps your putting yourself in a dangerous situation
