Yes there are a few on TTR that are waiting or had to wait.
-
There’s about to be a black market on those things
shooter19802003 Thanks this. -
We have six trucks at my terminal waiting. Out of 340 trucks at seven terminals I’m sure there’s more. My truck was down for three weeks, the company got TWO sensors and I fortunately got one of them. We have some old ratty loaners and the thought of driving one of those indefinitely was about to make me start looking for somewhere else to work.
Mine was the DEF fluid level sensor, it’s a long tube that dips down into the tank. -
Supposedly on the 15th they can release software to bypass the Def quality sensor/def level sensor in the tank. It will use the existing NOx sensors to make sure everything is working properly like they did pre-2016. Pretty sure your def gauge will stay on E all the time but the truck will run and operate like normal.
My truck went down yesterday. It’s in Mankato MN. They filled out the forms to get me on the list for the software update when it’s available and they also got me on the backorder list for a sensor. Then today I found a buddy who had deleted his truck and has the same sensor I need so this weekend he’s pulling it out and overnighting it to the shop that has my truck. If it works that’s great, if not then I’ll wait for the update.
I do know of one complete def tank with all harnesses and the sensor for $3k, and there are some sensors on eBay in the $4-6k range, so I guess it comes down to how long you can wait it out and how bad you need to work.shooter19802003, TallJoe, spsauerland and 3 others Thank this. -
Guy I used to lease onto has 2 of 4 trucks waiting on them. One has been down for 3 weeks and the other went down Friday.
the one that went down Friday was down for 14 days waiting on a NOX sensor in June.
Good luck.shooter19802003 and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
This stuff scares me. I called my local dealer today for a water pump. Said they were out, backordered, can't get em. A freakin' water pump for a run-of-the-mill Volvo. Scary.
shooter19802003, TallJoe, Speed_Drums and 2 others Thank this. -
Interesting stuff. I think this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better by the looks of it.
shooter19802003 and TallJoe Thank this. -
Rates will continue to go up. Less trucks to handle available loads. Troubling
shooter19802003 and 77fib77 Thank this. -
shooter19802003, Speed_Drums and Accidental Trucker Thank this.
