Passed TMC's 3-week CDL orient, today I head out for OTR training

    A lot of people ask how much
    Not a disgruntled TMC employee. Been doing flatbed for over 10 years and can honestly say 8k per wk is almost unheard of. When playing a slot machine you can get the 6 cherries in a row, but its certainly not common. There is a lot of smoke and mirrors in trucking, and recruiters who mislead here, and having been through the maze I attempt to add clarity.

    That'd be a hell of a plant to start an account early this year with the sole purpose of fleecing a bunch of prospective drivers for the company.

    My experience having actually worked for TMC, is that TMC doesn't give a f if you want to work there, and if you do, you're #### lucky that they'd let their recruiter send your app packet to committee.

    The guy is killing it and has no red flags to show he is bovine excrementing us, so give it a rest.

    Also @Farva , if you're ever in the Boston area, hit me up and let's do lunch.

    Also, you MAY want to consider adding the training feather to your hat. Based on your posts and your drive to run and maximize TMCs system, in the future (while you've already said you won't drive here forever) it may be lucrative to further your career into operations.

    No need to get riled up. Im just pointing out that some of these numbers Farva is posting are in no ways average or typical for a company driver. This is misleading to some who are considering TMC as they might think their gonna be making bank, but then when they start driving see that their only taking home $1100 max weekly and havent been home in weeks, they get pissed and do something stupid like abandon the truck somewhere, then TMC wrecks their dac report so no one will ever hire them to drive again, and it all started from unrealistic earning expectations. Id recomend TMC to anybody as I think their a great company to work for, and they also pay better I think than most mega fleets, but a $2600 gross check for a new company driver is in no ways common. And also, if Farva is really grossing $2600 and such weekly, going to operations would be a big pay cut. Didnt mean to stir the pot, I just speak from experience.

    You didn’t stir the pot at all or rile me up. Farva has mentioned multiple times that he stays out, and that is key.

    With regard to going to operations, sure it would be a big pay cut for him at his current performance, but I was speaking more on the lines of a path to take when he considers no longer driving for tmc.

    Surely he’ll likely stay long enough to vest and cash out his ESOP though.

    I’m looking at going to TMC and I’ve fond this thread very insightful. I’m not expecting to see the kind of money. I’m looking at the home time, every week.

    Out here still sending it. Still dragging this 53' JD trailer around for the 2nd week. I hope I can get rid of it this week.
