After three trips to worthless volvo dealerships maybe you people can help me. Any time it rains outside my right side window will go down. This happen with the key off sitting in parking lot or while I'm going down the road. The first dealership said it was the control switches. Replaced both still goes down by it self. Second dealer said he can't find any thing wrong. Dealer 3 told me the switches where bad told him BS there only 5 month old. He said I was wrong told him to back my truck out and cancel all work on my truck. I have the fuse remove to keep window up. Hope some one can help me.

If i were you, i would try to find out the past on that truck! Maybe the next trip should be at a priest to perform religious rites!

Just had the same thing happen with my 2011 Volvo on passenger side window. I purchased the truck new but the cab had leaking problems straight out from the factory. It is a 730 which is the flat top designed for flatbed/tanker. I don't have the air farring on the top. It was leaking at the attachment holes for a farring. They were not sealed at the factory. Water would run and leak at the cab corners where the curtains come around the curve. Water dropped down on to the switch for the window. After several rain storms when the window would roll down by itself I finally had Bruckners in Dallas look into it. My invoice says "checked found door switch broken (I broke it pulling it apart to keep window up), Pulled A/C cover to check plug going to window. It had corrosion in plug. Put gel in plug to stop water from getting in plugs. Put in new switch and put back together." You might want to call Bruckners in Dallas and ask for the shop. Talk to either Matt or Darrin and tell them I suggested you talk with them. Just tell them the lady Roehl owner operator referred you to them. They know me very well as this is my home Volvo dealer. Hope this helps

My Volvo did that. I would wedge a paper clip in the switch to hold it in the up position when it did that. 30 minutes later I would remove the clip and the window would go back down. A few hours later it would stay up. I never did find the problem.

I think ya'lls volvo's need an exercism, holy water, crusifixes, and a priest in the passenger seat at all times...Oh and a bell on the back just in case it's gremilins. Sorry but that'd creep me the hell out going down the road If my truck did that and I didn't have all those things.

No kidding! But I do take that back, I did find the problem and it was the company. Got that taken of though. The mechanics never had a clue and acted like it was the first they heard of that. I've talked to others who have had the same problem. I figured it was a connector somewhere shorting out like TexasPhoenix was saying.

The problem is hidden in door unit. This is the thing with buttons. What is bad is only way to learn disconnecting it one by one

Why door modul fails? Hah, becouse someone keeps doors open when it is raning

thank you for your help will look for the connectors. My truck doesn't leak had the leaks fixed a long time ago. Also will get a crucifix and bible for the dash and pray to the power window god's LOL!!! Volvo junk and bad dealerships I like the truck but cannot afford all the repairs they never stop. I have owned this truck for 4 years my repairs run me 36 cent a mile. almost all my profit will never own another one again. Could write a novel on this truck repairs.

    Hi Palbo

Both door switches are new. Only the right side goes down. I keep the door closed or switch covered to keep rain out of left side switch. the right side door never get open. I can honestly say it not water getting into switch. This is an easy out to blame water in switch. Truck makers might use there heads and put the control switches in the dash where it is dry.

truck makers try to save expencive cooper so they use electronic moduls mounted in doors. and from driver's side to pass side very thin wires run. Wire is broken somwhere and that's why gremlins wake up.

What year is the truck? I gonna try to find diagram to post you. rewiring may help) LOL
