Actually, it felt pretty good about the time I got in the sack! Now if they'd just keep at least one of those fast food concessions open a little later!

I'd consider paying to park if there was a separate rest room just behind the reserved spaces that was for use only by those who paid to park, a 30 Amp RV electrical hookup for each space, free internet access and a shower credit that goes along with it.

kind of funny that these two show up in the same week....

I was at the Baytown, TX location, a few weeks ago and some of the spaces were in use. If I had not been leaving, I would have gladly rented a spot as it was late and all the free places were in use.

The lack of truck parking is a direct result of compliant hours of service logs and the criminalization of freeway onramp parking. Used to be drivers only pulled over for 3 or 4 hours and move on. Now the drivers have to find a legal place to shut 'er down for 10 hours or more. Parking would go on being free but as long as drivers insist on pooping and peeing in their trucks and leaving the evidence strewn all over the parking landscape, tossing rotten meat and broken pallets and tons of debris out the rear end of their trailers, truck stop managers will have to find ways to pay the staff to clean up after these guys.Attached Files:

You are right scottied67. Some drivers do need to quit making a mess everywhere they go. But, I would bet you a buck that there was no thought of using that money to pay clean up costs. Heck, years ago, it was common for many truckstops to charge everyone to park there, unless you bought fuel, or a set amount in the store or shop.....but you know what was funny is that the stops who charged where often the dirtiest ones.

And, it is pretty obvious that many of the truckstops make no effort what-so-ever to clean up anything. An earlier poster stated he was surprised Pilot/Flying J didn't think of it first. Most Pilots are too small to dedicate 20 spots for reserved parking. Pilot doesn't want you to actually park...they seem to want you to grab your s..t and get.

Ok maybe I do not get the argument here--you don't like it go somewhere else--what's the big deal--it is a private business and you choose weather or not YOU want to do business with them..Simple
