Paying company insurance deductable

I can't belive companies are doing this ####. usually with all my drivers accidents do happen i understand if it was just pure stupidity they usually will get written up after 3 write up they are gone but to charge someone deductible cuz an accident happened. I didn't even think small companies are doing this.

 

Are you working for a 10-99 company?

 

We worked on an hourly basis and never ever charged a driver for damages on the truck.
Come to think of it when I was OTR I never ever heard of a driver getting charged for truck damage.

 

Wow. Hear something almost everyday that I find hard to believe. Who in their right mind would work for a scum bag place like that.

 

Not surprising ; those things go hand-in-hand. The trifecta would be shorting your pay.

 

Yeppers. It's very rare a company has only one crappy policy.
Usually if it's charging for company expenses, they will have bad equipment, push to run over hours, have trouble paying, etc.

Which is why when one of these issues show up, if not corrected immediately, the driver needs to get another job.

 

I have removed myself from orientations at companies tat wanted this signed. Check with a laboe law attourneym but I do not believe this is legallt collectable,
