You have to write down the miles you run in every state and turn in fuel receipts when you rent Penske.

Yes, exactly. I have 56 fuel receipts. Mostly just midwest. My driver would never push up against the 70 HOS. He would barely do 30 maybe 40 hours of service every week for 6 months. So, it's pretty lame that Penske drops a bomb on me when I want to return the truck. I talked to them today telling them I have receipts and just report the tax accurately. At the very most I owe 600 hundred, not 4k . That's just negligence on their end, but lets be realistic. They think I'm an easy target and they are spiking the bill.

Read the fine print in the contract, I believe if you don't turn in receipts they can charge like $8 bucks a gallon for the fuel and mileage and jack up the IFTA to whatever they want.

Figure out your own ifta it really isn't that difficult

If you didn't provide them with accurate information they are liable in an audit and the auditor has the authority to lower your average fuel economy to I think 4.0 mpg as well as deny credit for gallons bought if receipts aren't detailed. If you don't give them a detailed route, I'm sure they have a chart of estimated mileage instead.

You did keep trip reports listing where picked up and dropped off, routes taken and mileage by state, didn't you?

One of Company Policies I’m always hearing about. Apparently once it’s an official Policy no one can do anything about anything. Im gonna get Me some of those Policies.Im so sick of Big Companies always telling Me about their Policies.

Conveniently they did not tell me. It's a little shady to wait so long to drop a bomb, you know?
