Personal opinion if you can't ride I mean drive stick your not a real trucker

If that were the case then all the megas would still run manuals because it would pencil out better for them. You can have an experienced driver that worries about fuel economy that can get great fuel mileage running a manual and you can have someone in an auto that will mash it to the floor when they take off and get terrible fuel economy. But in general a modern highway truck with modern specs and an auto will do better on fuel.

Do any of these "real truckers" every wonder why the industry HAD to go to automated shifting? They have no mirrors in their houses. The trash truckers who will not learn, will not operated within the operating specs of equipment or are just poor drivers are the reason that automatics came into the industry. Nothing else. Like most everything that has disappeared from trucks, its because the old school drivers were so inept that they had to do something to save their bottom line. The trucks HAVE to get smarter because the general craftsmanship and professionalism tanked a LONG time ago in this country.
