Pete 379 with Cat C-15 mpg?

    Get the off road mufflers for the thing they are straight through and can be brought at every parts store.

    i wasnt saying slow to 65, i was just suggesting slow to whatever 1400 rpm is.

    were u a tmc driver? the in dash gauge is about 1 mpg better then actual. You had to look at your settlement to get actual mpg.

    Yep I was, that was calculated by hand. The computer was always on the high side but it was usually by about 3/10s or so.

    Well then you were the driver blowing the curve for the rest of us lol...Most of us never his 6 and judging by the snapshop points i got, I was average. Either your a great driver or you had a great truck lol.

    Have an '07 379 Pete, 475 Cat c-15 ascert, 18 speed w3.36 rears. replaced mufflers with flow thru mufflers, lost 50 lbs of weight and gained some boost and faster turbo response. THEN, had a Mr Haney PDI tune. gained from 1 to 1.5 mpg, and made it a fun truck to drive. Usually run from 67 to 69 mph pulling 51 ft step and some oversize loads. Truck does not seem to know the meaning of "hill". Would not go any other direction but with a Haney tune. Very happy with truck and even happier with results. A Mr Haney PDI tune is not cheap, but pays for itself in the long haul!!!

    My truck is a former TMC 379 that we bought in '09 or '10 that had around 300k on it. I run 68 mph (1375 rpm's) and almost always try to keep my rpms below 1400 especially when shifting.

    I averaged 6.1 mpg for all miles last year calculated by hand. My Cat computer hovers right around 6.4.
