I have an antenna on my mirror and I lose signal at the most bizarre places. Driving on a bridge over a lake, and multi-highway interchanges seem to be problems. i'm wondering if the reflectivity of the surrounding lake and concrete of the interchange poses a problem. It happened in Dallas, Jacksonville, and a couple other places I can't remember the name of the city.

When I first started solo, I put the antenna on the dash but it would cut out a lot (that's where my mentor kept his). So for a while I had the magnetic antenna zip tied to the driver's side mirror.I brought it back in during the rain due to door leaks, and experimented all around inside the cab (volvo) for a better place. The large upper shelf above the windshield worked OK but still cut out occasionally. Kept trying and ended up zip tying the antenna to the top of the web netting at the very back and top of the sleeper and do not lose signal at all now.

I did see a guy with that booster antenna attached to his nose mirror up front looking all ugly. It's like saying "Hey DOT over here, I need an inspection!"

you mean the blind spot mirrors?
it would make sense, but depending on the truck you might need a wiring extension.
