Seems to me, they want to weed out the guys who know better, and make this like CR England for NewBs to IC side.

The only thing in the contract that's there is the toll charges. Even then that's stating that they can take all tolls, not that they will. They have company policy posted where IC reimbursement for tolls is in effect. All the contract does is allows them to change that policy without notice.

And even if they start taking tolls from us you know they are charging customers for tolls, especially in the northeast. There's no way they'd pay tolls for us if they aren't charging them back to the customer. If they start taking tolls out of our settlement it would only be fair to pay us back.

In regards to the damage to equipment, again I'm sure that's up for debate. If a tire blows out when you're just driving down the road do you really think they're going to charge you? On the other hand, if you run over a pole and blow out the tire do you think they're going to charge you? Of course.

In regards to the over 100 mile deadheading charges seems like that's just a bunch of hearsay, that isn't mentioned anywhere in the contract and would be idiotic if it was implemented. Schneider may nickle and dime but they aren't idiots.

Well, it does seem like they are hiring more and more riff raff (no offense to the quality people coming on board LOL). A message just came out today stating that a new safety manager was hired due to a large uptick in preventable accidents and critical events. Seems like they're lowering their standards based on the comments made by the safety manager.

The conversation was more about putting yourself out of service for 24 hours or more and wanting to bobtail or deadhome. If they need the trailer in that freight area and you take it out they will charge. If they need you reposition a trailer and you refuse they will charge unless you return to that area to take the next load.

Specifically about deadheading out for another load wasn't exactly covered. You gave me something to ask tomorrow.

I agree with you on the tire blowouts.. I can't imagine them charging because of a tire blowout but I can see if the tire was blown up because you ran over something like a curb and such.

The toll clause is exactly as it was in the previous contract...

All in all when you compare the new contract side by side to the old not too much has changed...

Though there is a couple of big additions about how Schneider is not giving us all of the fuel discount and equipment discounts that they receive..

And it does say we get $25 to make trailer moves now, but we can always decline them as usual...

We'll see how it goes. Can always go elsewhere if you're unhappy with Choice...

    Roll on...

frankly to me it's just a bunch of legal mumbo jumbo in the contract I made 64 pages long come on... But I guess we'll see and I'll be emailing some people tonight to see if I can get a response tomorrow on clarification
