I've been out of the truck for abit and got to thinking are cbs making a comeback? Seems like they should for check ins.

Or are you guys still standing at papered up windows getting treated like an annoyance trying to pickup and delivery?

Is it all done thru the security gate now?
They not letting you pick up without a mask? Any fun stories with that?

I have no clue. Tell me your all's story how it is out there I wanna know.

Stand outside in the rain, and cold by the locked shipping/receiving door, they’ll be with you when you’re soaked and chilled to the bone.

Only difference is their end sentence.

But remember, your load is important to us.(Receiving Dept)
Our load is the most important thing in your life.(Shipping Dept)

I can't recall ever doing a pick up or delivery when I wasn't treated as I was an annoyance or interrupting someone's leisure time, forcing them to actually do their job.

There was an old bag that's on our local news that had the virus. For several days she couldn't smell her wine!!!!!!! I mean..............OMFG!!!!!!!! The horror!!!!!!!!

Haven't noticed much of a difference in the way people behave at shippers/receivers, even here in California. For those drivers who feel that they're treated badly at every stop, perhaps it has more to do with them rather than those they're dealing with. People usually respond in a positive way to a positive attitude. If you act like an aloof a-hole, you generally will get treated as such.

No, I haven't had the pleasure. Of course I don't get many lumber loads hauling reefer.

I’ve hauled lumber in a dry box as well.
I hauled from that place for about a year, he was always mad.
You had to carry boards to put on the deck of the flatbed, and help him center.
Whichever side of the trailer you stood by, he’d go to the other so you could walk around and set the boards.
If you went back he’d go back to the opposite again.

When you finally got loaded, you ask, where can I pull out of the way to tarp.
He’d tell you to park behind the dry kiln building.

So now your up top and just get your tarps unrolled and he comes up telling you, you’re in his way, you need to get all your stuff up and move to the other end of the plant.

if you do move, he’ll make you go back behind the other building.
If you tell him your not moving after about the 3-4 visit he’ll just tell you you need to hurry.

My company does drop and hook at a variety of shippers. Its a mix with how they handle it. Almost all of them "require" masks, but you might walk in and no one is wearing one, business as usual, stand in line and wait to speak to the dispatcher. Others are guard contact only. Some are using phones to call, and they leave your paperwork in the trailer. Still others scan your temp, and make you sign a form. Its haphazard. Do what you feel you need to in this situa
