Why would they? They just built that intermodal 10 or 15 years ago.

They did the same thing in Fresno when they bulldozed the truck stop to make way for the HSR.

I was just in that part of Memphis last Tuesday-it’s not a crock,I can assure you. My employer has a terminal on Webb Utility Road half a block west of the construction area. Both Pilots have all of their windows boarded up pending demolition.
Holmes Road indeed will be an overpass (they built a temporary road so they can work on the overpass-the whole area is a quagmire! -
As previously stated,US-78 is being widened and expanded to handle all the truck traffic and bring it up to interstate standards,as further southeast the highway turns into I-22.drvrtech77 Thanks this.

I'm the one that stated it and produced the documents.
I think what a lot of people may not know is that Pilot most likely made out VERY well. I know when I had three acres that were "taken" by eminent domain, I was paid extremely well, double the market value.JolliRoger Thanks this. -
One thing to remember is that right now real estate wise it’s a seller’s market,so I’m sure Pilot made out like a bandit, along with a few other property owners in that area that the state purchased the land from.

Oh yeah, I forgot.....It's a Love's and Mom and Pop Shell in Tupelo. The Love's fills up super quick and the Shell can fit maybe 5 trucks. There are other truck stops before you get to Tupelo though. I forget about that Loves because I never go there....I've gone to the Shell a few times. The fried chicken ain't bad there
