10 4.have you done any other polishing of aluminum?I've been slowly replacing all my aluminum with stainless and it's been working well so far.very very minimal maintenance.all I have left is my battery box/tool box covers.ive tried the purple Polish with good results but takes forever and never seems to last more than a few months.could a person clear coat them?or would it chip up and look worse than dull aluminum?

Eagle used to sell clear coat to be used after polishing. Would last longer than normal but no side effects.

Has anyone experienced dura brights oxidize? The trailer is a 2012 quad axle dump(back to front:2 fixed tandems then 2 lift able steers) I can only find a partial sticker on one rim that reads ura brig, so I figure that means dura bright. But these suckers, hell the whole trailer has seen a rough life.
Anyways the decent parts of the rims clean up just fine with soap/water, but it seems like there's a lot of oxidation/fogginess streaks on the rims. Like stains from the steel studs/nuts?? I hit a couple small spots with some mother's mag/al polish and it shined them right up with little effort.
I know the deal with dura brights is no polishing, but am I setting myself up for disaster by polishing the sub par areas?
I hung around for about 20 mins after I did the test spots I didn't notice any adverse effects... I'm going to drive back over tmw morning and take another look and polish up some other stuff..
