I had one tell me late one night on the Indiana TPK back in the early 90's "nobody passes a Prime truck"...

I waited until he was doing all he could do then I passed him.....That stupid move prolly could have got my ### put in jail for as fast as I was going..

and yeah my 379 wasn't governed..

Covenat and US Express were almost as bad, now I blow their doors off at 70 MPH.

what was that one reefer company out of Colorado that used to haul a lot of Beef?

I think they went defunct well over 10 years ago. they are still legendary today for being triple-digit fly by night Cowboys.

I think most of their trucks had orange and yellow stripes

that's right. One of my distant relatives had two of their old trucks.

I think they were 1970 s cab over Petes, with I want to say 4 x 4 transmissions.

Him and buddy ran for themselves, before I gave truck driving I thought he wanted me to come drive for him. he bragged about making money hand over fist even with those old POS, but that was before fuel prices shot up 300%.

he retired a couple years ago, and I think he hung on to one of those trucks till the bitter end.

I can't believe that JB didn't get mentioned until page two, and Schnieder didn't get mentioned until page four !!!! That said, I've never had a problem with either. Matter of fact, 20 years ago, one of those tan JB COE Binders put a trailer in a door for me that I couldn't do with a big hiway conventional (downtown Long Island City - yeah, the paper wharehouse !! ). Remember how 20 years ago those poor drivers were the butt of EVERY joke on the road ??

Anyway, all that said, I also can't fathom how much FedEx Ground gets mentioned !!! Are they really THAT bad in areas now ? What's the biggest issues ? I thought FedEx Ground was all brokers ? What gives ?
