What it does for the driver is it takes less taxes out at payday. Then at the end of the year, the way they do it, complicates figuring your meal allowance on the tax return.

If you get a truck that breaks down regularly ( very good chance) you'll be looking for a job in no time. If you don't lose your house and your family starves to death first.. If your retired military or have an income other than Poly, you might...be ok... might!!

I have no other income except for poly, a family of 5 on one income. I breakdown just as much as the next guy and take a loaner more than most. I made 60k last year in 1st year with poly and on track to do 65k-66k this year.
I'm waiting for that better job out of Florida but I just don't see it lol. Just so nobody is confused im 31 and I'm not disabled(my wife probably would disagree) or receive anything from my 4 year military career lol.

Pretty sure I know what I am talking about as I was running back and forth from Henderson, NV to Salt Lake City for 8 months. I was paid mileage for driving and 14.50/hr when working around the yard or town deliveries.

For the 0.57 cents/mi I added all the pay we get beyond mileage and divided it by total miles I ran.

Looking at another real solid week. Knocked out 160 miles this morning into Effingham, IL then burned up to Chitown and pulled a hat trick of pick ups and managed to make it out of town with time to burn. Should be dropping in Farmers Branch Friday afternoon and either picking up a short run in Texas later that day or Saturday. No miles here:))

I was recently told that of those 100 trucks parked in the Grand Prairie lot, most of them are awaiting repairs. 1 of the trucks has reportedly been sitting there since last august.

My truck .... I'm sitting in a Phoenix hotel, since Tuesday, waiting for International to figure out how to fix my a/c, which was "fixed" twice last week at Petro in Effingham.

Maybe it's time to trash the Internationals??
